What is hyperloop?
Hyperloop is a guided transport system in which vehicles travel through reduced-pressure tubes using integrated guidance, levitation and propulsion systems.
Is a hyperloop tube transparent?
No. An operating tube is normally an opaque industrial structure. Transparent sections may be used for demonstrations or educational visualisations, but they do not represent the complete infrastructure.
Is hyperloop the same as maglev?
No. Both may use magnetic levitation, but hyperloop adds a reduced-pressure environment to lower air resistance. Maglev operates in open air or covered guideways.
How safe is hyperloop?
Safety depends on design, redundancy, control, braking, tube integrity, emergency access and certification. It cannot be inferred from a prototype’s speed alone.
Is hyperloop sustainable?
It may contribute to low-emission mobility when energy, materials, construction and demand are assessed across the full lifecycle and compared with equivalent alternatives.
What feasibility studies are needed?
At minimum, demand, alignment, geology, environment, safety, technology, cost, financing, permitting, intermodality and operating-model studies are needed.
